Attending events like Cars On The Campus is a joy for us Old Car Owners, but it can be bit repetitive – same cars, same people.
Not this year!
I was aware that Colin and George could be considered “Petrol Heads” but I was amazed at the level of contact they have with the wider world of “Classic Car Clubs”
We had a group of nine cars from the Ulster Pre War Club who came to visit for the day.
Not many shows can boast not one but two fire engines, a beautifully restored classic coach in its original livery. and our own military section, not to mention the other groups and attractions such as the Astronomical Society.
The Nissan Figaro Club brought twelve cars, each one beautifully presented.
No doubt everyone who attended has a favourite story to tell.
I met a young family with a magnificent 1930’s Morris Eight. The owner had tracked it down near London and had it shipped up.
The car was a real treat and already was an adopted member of the family; it shone like a shilling.
This was mainly due to the attention of the family’s young son, who for the duration of the show, was never far away from a duster.
