Hi folks, welcome to the newsletter which has been rather in abeyance as the website has a wealth of information on Club doings. However, I understand that some folks don’t use it, so here goes with a new news letter!

Who’s Who?

Those of you who managed to attend the AGM will know that the committee was re-elected, clearly not having been caught out yet. The only change being that Brian Mabon had elected not to stand. Subsequently however Brian has been able to rejoin us, which is excellent as Kieron had just announced that he had to drop out. So the committee is as last year:

I might add that folks basically take care of all sorts of things in addition to their generic heading, for example John with Stu’s assistance is in the process of taking on the ‘front end’ of our Club website  which has been set up and run by Tony P.

Kingcase Church Fete Sat 8th Jun 19

Kingcase Church have asked if we could display a dozen or so cars in support of their fete on Saturday 8th of June 2019.
Cars will be on the greensward in front of the Church and the event will be from 10:00 until 12:00. If you would like to offer support please contact George Frame at

Nonetheless we are always alive for advice on how it might be improved so if you wish to comment, please do.

John has written a short brief on the website for those who might not have been able to attend.

Static Events

Brian has re-introduced paper booking of events for Static Events but he is keen to make the maximum use of electronic booking via the website.
He will nonetheless ping an email to folks in advance of events for which they have booked, just to remind them!

A pretty full calendar this year – items in green are our shows.

Brian intends to finalise entries for Ayrshire Vintage show (cattle market) on Sunday posting out Monday. So far we have 30 entries but just in case there are a few last minutes, let him know now.

Mid – Year Dinner

Our mid-year Dinner will be held on Friday 30th August at the Savoy Park Hotel Ayr.
Meal cost have yet to be finalised, but rooms can be booked directly with the hotel at the discount rate of £70.00 for a Double or Twin Room inclusive of Breakfast and £55.00 for a Double or Twin Room for Single Occupancy inclusive of Breakfast. More details to follow.

Transport (Scotland) Bill

In its present form this represents a threat to the use of historic vehicles in Scotland…..please read the attached note by clicking ‘HERE’ and you might like to contact your MSP to recommend the changes suggested.

And Finally…

Do please wear your lanyards and name badges at Club meetings and events, especially when arriving at Burns.
