INTRODUCTION
You may well recall my note on the debate concerning the impact of Local Emission Zones (LEZs) on the use of classic cars.
Well I wrote on your behalf to a number of MSPs expressing concern and received a mixed bag of responses. I enclose a note from the Head of Air Quality within Transport Scotland for a sit rep on progress:
AYRSHIRE CLASSICS SHOW @ BURNS BIRTHPLACE MUSEUM
As previously mentioned – Clearly we are expected !!
The door open to the public at 10:00am so if I can ask all attending to be in place for 9:45am.
This was a rather wonderful show last year and we were blessed with some stunning weather to compliment our stunning cars and an appreciative crowd.
We look forward to more of the same next Sunday!
PLEASE NOTE DISPLAYING AT THIS EVENT IS FOR AYRSHIRE CLASSICS CAR CLUB MEMBERS ONLY
‘MID YEAR’ DINNER AT THE SAVOY PARK FRIDAY 30th AUG 2019
Yea, it is to be £25 per head for Club members and their partners. Guests will be £30 per head.
For that you will be able to relax in good company in a pleasant environment having enjoyed a welcome drink of suitable bubbly or a softee followed by a 3 course meal which will be accompanied by wine and or soft drinks and topped off by coffee and la liqueur.
Now how can you refuse?
If you fear that the alcohol might go to your head, book a room in the Savoy Park by contacting them direct and don’t forget to mention the Club for your discounted room.
To book places at this awesome event (OK awesome might be a little of an exaggeration) please ensure that you have paid John McSpadyen the requisite amount.
His address is 12 Landsborough Drive, Kilmarnock KA3 1RY and you can email him at jandpmcspadyen@gmail.com
Finally…
Your committee decided some time ago that in order for all of us to identify members and avoid the embarrassment of the ‘er, I’ve forgotten your name’ we would introduce name badges on lanyards, all paid for by the Club.
This has proved to a great success and also makes it clear who is actually a member. The badge carries a ‘year of membership’ identifier which will change at the end of the Club year when new badges will be issued.
I should add at this point that badges are available for members and their partners – just ask Keith if you don’t have both.
There is nothing to stop you emblazoning your regalia with your name or anything else so long as it is not offensive and Keith can provide details of how to go about doing that and indicative costs but that does not stand in for the lanyards.
I have explained why we want them worn, so fatuous comments such as ‘they are rubbish and I’ve put mine in the bin’ really do not help foster Club companionship.
Please ignore them.
If you have lost or misplaced your lanyard, Keith will furnish you with a new one at cost.
Do please wear your lanyards and name badges at Club meetings and events, especially when arriving at the Burns experience.
If you don’t have yours yet, please contact Keith at mail@keithshome.co.uk.
Best regards,
Francis
