The ‘Three Lochs Classic’ 2019

This years RSAC ‘Three Lochs Classic’ took place on Sunday August 18th and although it was a late addition to our list of events and not one that the club officially attended, a number of our members went along and enjoyed the day.

The rally started at the Morris Equestrian Centre, Fenwick at 10:00am where the vintage cars headed out on the shorter route which is 40 miles soon to be followed by the classic cars which took on the longer route which totalled 70 miles.

This took in some sights around about Ayrshire and obviously passed ‘Three Lochs’ as the name dictates!
The participants were all back at the Equestrian Centre for just after 12:30pm where they enjoyed a lunch and quiz before the prizes were awarded for the day at 3:00pm, with ACCC members being well represented and scooping three of the classes.

Class 4 (Cars manufactured between 1941 and 1955 inclusive)
First Place –
Bruce Henderson 1953 Morris Oxford Traveller
Class 6 (Cars manufactured between 1966 and 1972 inclusive)
First Place –
George Frame 1966 Rootes Sunbeam Alpine
Class 7 (Cars manufactured between 1973 and 1981 inclusive)
First Place –
Andrew Gilmour 1977 T. V. R. Taimar

Well done Chaps!

There was still time for a good chat before heading home to wash the cars down – George F reports that it’s one of the dirtiest car parks he has been in this year.
That’s Equestrian Centres for you George!  The dirtier they are, the more fun you’ve had 😉
