‘Virtual’ Monthly Club Meeting

‘Virtual’ Monthly Club Meeting – Thursday 14th of May

Hello folks!

Believe it or not, it’s almost that time of the month again where we’d normally be convening in Prestwick for a chinwag!

Instead, we’ll be having a ‘virtual’ Club Meeting right here on the website this Thursday (14th of May) at 8:05pm, right after the applause for our wonderful NHS!

No speaker but instead the theme is very much a catch up to see what everyone has been up to and discuss some ideas for meetings moving forwards
(We have been thinking of you and your entertainment you know!)

To ‘attend’ the meeting, you need to log into the website with your username and password and then click on ‘Virtual Club Meeting’ on the top right hand side of the ‘HomePage’.

(You need to be a current Member to have a username – if you can’t remember your username contact Tony by clicking ‘HERE’)

PRO-TIP – If you’re accessing the site on your own device (I guess we all should be as we’re in lockdown!), tick the ‘Remember Me‘ box under the password and let your tech do the remembering for you!

PRO-TIP 2 – if you can’t remember your password, just enter your username and click ‘Log In‘ – This will take you to a rather grey page with an extra option on it.  If you look at the bottom of the image, you will see the words ‘Forgot Password?
Click on these to have an email sent to you with instructions on resetting your password.

Once you’re logged in, click on the words ‘Virtual Club Meeting’ at the top right of the screen (there’s a small icon of a cloud to the left of it)

You should be taken straight to the ‘chatroom’ and automatically logged in to the ‘meeting’ – the screen should appear as shown below:

We’ll leave up the transcript of the last meeting till immediately before this months meeting starts so you can log in and have a browse to get used to things prior to Thursday!
You’ll be able to see who is logged into the chatroom by looking at the left hand side – in the image above, Tony is the only person in the room.

You type your message / comment into the white bar at the bottom as shown in the image above.  You can add ’emojis’ by clicking on the smiley face on the right hand side of the white bar.  For example, if you wished to insert a thumbs up, click on the smiley face then click on the thumbs up – It will then appear next to your comment.  Once you are happy your comment is ready, hit the enter / return key (shown below) on your keyboard to submit it.

There is another icon next to the smiley face that you can use to add things to your comments – a paperclip.  clicking on this allows ‘attachments’ to be added to your message. If you click on the paperclip, your screen should look like the image below:

If you have a photograph on the device you are visiting the website on, click ‘Add file’ and then once you have selected it, it will appear in the ‘chatbox’ – I’ll add an image advertising the ‘VCotC’ below as an example: (The other three options are hopefully self-explanatory and will depend on the device you are using)

Don’t leave it to the last minute – try and log in then have a browse around and leave a message or try out the emojis before Thursday so you know you can access it.  It also gives Tony a little time to sort out any issues before the meeting starts!

We look forward to seeing you there!
