Magnificent Motoring Museums

As we go ever deeper into 2020 in lockdown, we thought we’d look to the future when we can once again explore the past and take a little tour of some of the fabulous motoring related attractions that the UK has to offer.

This is by no means an exhaustive list – more of a collection of suggestions shared with us from our Members.


The Barlow Museum Tour

The Barlow Museum is one of the finest stationary engine museums in the world. Join Allen Barlow as he shares with us some of his favourite exhibits in the museum.


The Haynes International Motor Museum

The Haynes International Motor Museum is the UK’s largest collection of unique and rare cars from around the world, with over 400 cars and bikes. From early motoring in the late 1800s through nostalgic classics of the 1950s and 1960s, breathtaking Bentleys and Rolls Royces to world famous super cars like the Jaguar XJ220. Located just off the A303 at Sparkford in Somerset the Museum currently offers 19 individual exhibitions and it is very much a “Museum in Motion” with tours, talks and activities for families, children and enthusiasts alike. Packed with precious metal, the Haynes International Motor Museum is truly a world class motor museum.

The British Motor Museum

Explore the world’s largest collection of Historic British cars. With over 300 classic cars on display, free tours and interactive family activities, there is plenty to keep everyone entertained. Walk along the Time Road, a century of motoring history beginning in 1896 and experience how motoring has changed: the roads, the cars and even the fashions. Visit the Film & TV cars zone home to our most popular movie vehicles – the fabulously pink FAB 1 from Thunderbirds, the Land Rover Defender used in the opening sequence of the James Bond Skyfall movie, the Tomb Raider Defender, the Land Rover ‘Judge Dredd’ City Cab and a replica of the DeLorean from Back to the Future 2. The Museum is situated in the small village of Gaydon, Warwickshire, just off junction 12 of the M40.


Beaulieu Motor Museum

In this vlog, Keith and Luke take a trip to Beaulieu Motor Museum where they visit World of Top Gear, ride the Monorail and explore the motor museum to see a range of vintage, retro and fast cars and motorbikes.


Lakeland Motor Museum

The Lakeland Motor Museum is a museum now located at Backbarrow, Cumbria, England which houses a collection of classic cars, motorcycles, bicycles, pedal cars and motoring related items and memorabilia and an exhibition dedicated to the land and water speed record activities.
