Meeting & Event Updates – (Millport & Thursday Lunch Run)

Meeting Update

We welcomed almost 50 of our number on Thursday for the first physical meeting for 18 months and an update on what’s ahead for us all during September.

It was great to have some semblance of normality again and (despite the lack of tea and the social distancing) an enjoyable evening was had by all.

Francis updated us all on the potential events between now and the end of the year (and beyond), Stu told us about the speakers lined up for future meetings, Ronnie has some suggestions for outings and Brian had the arrangements for the one which is imminent!

There were some great suggestions by members for communication, events, fundraising and meetings which we’ll put to you all for consideration in the coming weeks.

Onto the pressing matters first – namely the ‘Millport Classic Car Show’ this weekend and next week’s ‘Thursday Run’:

Millport Classic Car Show

All members who have booked a space at this event via Brian should meet in the B&Q Car Park in Stevenston (Hawkhill Retail Park, Kilwinning Rd, Stevenston KA20 3DE) at 8:00am on Sunday morning, from where we’ll travel in convoy to Largs to get the ferry across to Millport.

The round trip on the ferry is £13.45 for a vehicle excluding the driver.  Adults are charged an additional £3.50 each.  You can view the costs & the timetable by clicking ‘HERE’

Thursday Lunch Run

The Thursday’s ‘Lunch Run’ has been postponed until Thursday 23rd (see Francis’s email for details) – It sees George take us on a trip to Langbank for lunch then to Greenock for a private viewing of the Fire & Rescue Museum then through Gourock & Largs for high tea.

If you would like to come along, please contact George at or give him a call on 07905 679492.
