October Meeting & Reminder for Sunday

As promised, an update on the October meeting!

Were you there?  Did you manage to listen to all the computer talk without falling asleep? 😉

Just in case you missed it and want to ‘catch up’, Tony took a video of the talk and it will be available later this month as a ‘Members Only’ post.  As mentioned in the talk, we can make pages available for members only, so if you’re able to see the post when it lands, you must be logged in !! 😉

‘Vintage Village’ Trip – Sunday 24th

Remember Sunday (24th) is the visit to the ‘Vintage Village’ @ Cumnock – We’ll meet from 11:00am at Cemetery car park in Manse Road, Coylton. KA6 6GW looking to head off at around 12:00pm.

George suggests a light lunch in the cafe at Dumfries House to arrive at the Vintage Village for 2:00pm

It’ll take about 2 hrs to look round and you might even get a cup of tea or coffee at the end.

Don’t forget that this facility is self funded so a contribution to enable them to keep going would be welcome – there will be a contribution box in the building, so do please ‘feed it’.
There is ample space for everyone, so if you haven’t already done so, please let George know if you plan to go.

Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive

You might recall that Tony has been championing the Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive.

The closing date for fundraising is 31st October.  Thanks to everyone who had donated so far!
If you still wish to make a small contribution, just click ‘HERE’ – Every penny counts and we’ll share the final total which (will be donated in the Clubs name) in next month’s Newsletter – Thanks in Advance!

What is it?

‘The Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive is a celebration of classic style. 2021 was the inaugural event, which took place on Sunday, September 26th. It is an on-road motoring event, uniting pre-80’s designed classic cars, encouraging drivers and passengers around the world to dress dapper and drive for men’s health. All funds raised are invested in vital research and programs for prostate cancer and men’s mental health by Movember.’

It’s also worth mentioning that the event we travelled to was the Lanarkshire Classic Car Club’s monthly meet at Greenside Garden Centre, High St, Newhouse, Motherwell ML1 5ST which was enjoyed by all who attended – It’s on again on Sunday 31st of this month at the same venue from 10:30am till 1:30pm.
No entry fee but they always raise money for CHAS, so drop a few pounds into the yellow buckets please!

Alloway Primary School Visit

A quick reminder that the display for P5 at Alloway Primary School is set for Friday 29th of October.

Please arrive as soon after 1:20pm as you can, but not before as the playground will be filled with children until then and massed nippers and classic cars just don’t mix!

P5 will be unleashed upon us at 1:30pm so as you can see, timing quite critical.
Thanks to those of you you who are coming.

Ayrshire Classics Calendar?

Just a thought as we approach the end of 2021 (and the beginning of 2022) – Would there be any interest in a club calendar featuring a selection of our members vehicles?

This could be done as a fundraiser, for charity or even just for the heck of it!
Let us know what you think by clicking ‘HERE’ and if there is enough interest, we’ll look at getting it done!

Enjoy your weekend!
