Cars on the Campus 2022 – Show Report

What a Show – And the weather smiled on us 🙂

After a rather miserable last day of April, we lucked out and the sun beat the rain to give us a dry day for what was our busiest ever Cars on the Campus with over 300 vehicles booked in.

Our magnificent stewarding team were on hand from 8:00am to position the vehicles in good time for the Provost opening the show at 10:30am.

The array of vehicles was superb and the Committee would like to thanks all the clubs and individuals who booked and attended as well as our own members whose pride & joy made the show such a success.

We also had an afternoon visit from the wonderful sights & sounds of the ‘National Street-Rod Association‘ who were on their ‘Spring Rumble‘ – A very popular addition that had quite the reaction from the public!

Grateful thanks also go to our Piper, the talented Ross Moffat, who accompanied the ‘Provost’s Parade‘ to open the show and to Jimmy McInnes, our compere on the day.

It almost seems a shame to single out any vehicles amongst the 300 chariots who came along but as always there were three prizes to be allocated;  The ‘Best in Show’, The ‘Ayrshire Classics Favourite Award’ & The ‘Provost’s Choice’.

This year saw two cars share the three prizes with Alec Blakely’s 1972 Triumph TR6 scooping ‘Best in Show’ and Andy Middleditch’s 1961 Daimler 250SP (Dart) collecting both the ‘Provost’s Choice’ & the ‘Ayrshire Classics Favourite Award’.

As always there are plenty of photographs and videos of the day which you can view below this article:

We couldn’t run this show and keep it free for the visiting public without your support and the support of our many sponsors who advertise in the show booklet – their generosity keeps the event going and we thank them all.

Please give their businesses and sites a visit and ‘Keep Business Local’:

Do enjoy!
