Millport Classic Car Show 2022 – Show Report

“Over Land & Sea”

Back in its usual slot in the calendar following the Covid related rescheduling to September last year, the trip to Millport is always a welcome sight in our weekend plans.  It was arranged on the Saturday rather than the usual Sunday this year but was booked to capacity nonetheless.

The Ayrshire Classics cohort met at the B&Q carpark in Stevenston at 8:00am before heading to Largs in convoy to catch the specially enhanced ferry service to the Isle of Cumbrae and the short drive to the Garrison Cafe grounds in Millport to park up for the show.

Once parked, we sampled the now traditional Garrison Cafe bacon roll and sat down for a chat before exploring the various vehicles and renewing old friendships.

The sun made an appearance and left at least one of our number with a rather burnt face as we sat and chatted the afternoon away.

The conversation and interest in the cars from the viewing public was so good in face, that we lost track of time and the video / photo offerings are subsequently rather shorter than usual !

The short ferry trip back to Largs and an ice cream finished off a lovely day at a show we can heartily recommend to you.
