Cattle Market Show @ Whirlford, Ayr – July 24th 2022

A show in the ‘Scottish Summer’…

The Ayrshire Vintage Tractor & Machinery Club event at Whirlford (known as the ‘Cattle Show’) went ahead despite the organisation not having a Secretary this year.  It made for a slightly different  event that we’ve been used to over the years and with clubs & private entries invited just to ‘turn up and display’ with no entry fees, there was a good showing of cars.

AutoScots, Dumfries & Galloway Classic Wheels Club, West Coast Classics, Lanarkshire Classic Car Club & Ayrshire Classics Car Club were all out in force as well as a number of private entries.  We had about 30 cars there – a very good turn out.

It was also nice to meet Iain Elliott and his Morris 1000 and welcome him to the club as a new member!

The day was a bit dull and lunchtime brought that staple of Scottish Summertime, a heavy rainstorm, but plenty folks turned out to look at the tractors, cars, models and also the dogs that were performing in the ring.

We look forward to next years show.

There is a short video of the day below:
