Dundonald Primary & ACCC @ Burns Birthplace Museum

Lots to look forward to this week with the Club!

Primary School Visit

On Monday we’ll be attending Dundonald Primary School to support their teachers & pupils as part of their curriculum where they are learning about transport and transport history.

Members should arrive at the school to be in place for 2pm for the pupils to enjoy the vehicles and doubtless ask us all lots of questions.  The location is : Castle Dr, Dundonald, Kilmarnock KA2 9EP

Please let Francis know if you’re coming along by clicking ‘HERE

Monthly Club Meeting

This Thursday being the second Thursday of the month (no, really – it is!) will be our monthly meeting in Prestwick @ Kingcase Halls on Waterloo Road, KA9 2AA

Stu has organised a speaker who will be talking about Alexander Graham Bell and we’ll obviously debrief everyone on the CotC show.

ACCC at the Burns Birthplace Museum

One of our favourite outings of the year is this coming Sunday at the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum in Alloway, Ayr, KA7 4PQ

Members should arrive between 9:00am and 9:30am to be parked and ready for the opening at 10:00am. Important to be there pre 9:30am as the gates will be closed at 10:00am to restrict vehicular movements for spectator safety.  The show closes at 3:00pm.

We’ll have a journalist from Ayrshire Magazine in attendance who will be doing a feature on our club for an upcoming issue and will want to speak to a few of us – I better have a shower and shave in advance (and do similar to the car) 😉

If you haven’t already, just click ‘HERE‘ to let us know you’re coming along.

Summer Dinner

If you’ve been checking your emails you’ll know the arrangements for the Summer Dinner at the Savoy Park in Ayr.

If you haven’t, here’s a little note to inform you:

The format will be more or less as normal.  For those who haven’t been before, that means that you’ll arrive after 1900 for a 1930 sit down.  A glass of fizz, or non-alcoholic alternative will greet you on arrival and then as we don’t do pre-set tables you will take your place at any table you like.  Normally a maximum of eight folk can be accommodated at each circular table.

Once you are seated, the staff will identify who is sitting where so that you receive the meal that you have ordered.  This is a small change from what has gone before as you will have pre-ordered your meal when you book in order to minimise waste.

Then, if you are unlucky you will be subjected to a short (short? I hear you say) introduction by your chairman before the first course is served.

Dress is smart casual as normal.  The meal will be 3 courses followed by coffee and . you will receive a glass of wine or soft drink for each course.

So there we have it.  The meal choices are set out below and all you have to do to reserve a seat is to book and pay.  The cost believe it or not is £36 per head for a member and your partner; if you bring another guest, they will pay £46.

BOOKING AND PAYMENT

Please pay via PayPal to info@ayrshireclassics.com, or by Bank Transfer to Ayrshire Classics Car Club Account number 42738251 Sort Code 09 06 66.

Once you have paid, please complete your choices for dinner and let me know.  Only then are your places secured.
