Milngavie BID are pleased once again to be organising the Classic Car Show in Milngavie. The event will mark the start of Milngavie Week 2023, that is a week of events organised by local community organisations to celebrate all that Milngavie has to offer.
The Milngavie BID team are working to pull together the event details to make it a fun family day out for everyone. Here are a few updates for you all.
ZONES
We will be locating cars in zoned parts of the precinct, loosely based on car size very much like last year. Following feedback from you, we have made a few changes to try to accommodate everyone while retaining access for emergency vehicles. We will place you in groups if attending as a car club.
Previous attendees will recall that Milngavie has a pedestrian precinct and we will have permission from the local authority on the day for your vehicles to enter via the barriers on Douglas Street. We will circulate maps for the event later on. If your vehicle has any special requirements due to size, please let us know. We will try our best to accommodate all your needs.
KIDS ZONE
This year, the Tesco car park area will be reserved for children’s bumper cars, music and other entertainment. No cars will be located here.
EXTRA CAR PARK
We have also applied to use the Douglas Street car park at the entrance to Milngavie’s pedestrian precinct. This will allow for extra space in case of extra demand.
STALLS AND EXHIBITORS
We will have stalls to entertain the public along with your cars. If you know of any specialist exhibitors who would normally attend car shows, please provide them with our contact details to see if they would like to attend.
CAR OWNER HOSPITALITY
Each car owner who attends will be provided with a £7.50 gift card and a range of special menus available throughout Milngavie where it can be spent. This was really popular last year, so we have decided to offer the same for you this time.
CONTACTS
The key contacts for the event are the Milngavie BID Team: Tony I’Anson (me) and Maxine Irvine We will be giving you further updates to the event as the time gets closer.
Car Clubs.
If you are a member of a car club, a single application can also be made with a key contact person emailing us direct. We would need to know how many cars from your club would like to attend.
Please feel free to circulate details of our event to your club if you are a member. We can accommodate up to circa 80 to 100 cars from previous experience. We look forward to meeting you all in June and hope for a bright sunny day in Milngavie.
Kind regards,
Tony I’Anson and Maxine Irvine
