KeymasterHopefully you’ve read our ‘comment‘ article on the upcoming MOT changes for both Classic and Modern vehicles.
How do you feel about the changes and do you think they are a good or bad thing for our vehicles and community?
Have your say in our forum discussion as we move closer to May 20th !!- This topic was modified 5 years, 1 month ago by

KeymasterPersonally, I’m not so worried about being tempted to cut corners to keep my cars on the road. I’m probably like most club members (in any club) who are borderline obsessive about their cars and keep them in decent order. That’s not to say we won’t miss something and I’ll probably have it checked out annually anyway by a pro. My worries are twofold:
Firstly, If dodgy dave sells me a car that visually looks great and is MOT exempt, how do I know if it’s ‘roadworthy’ and he hasn’t covered up a multitude of sins with fresh paint?
Secondly, If I do decide to have the cars fully MOT’d annually, does that affect their VHI status and therefore their tax exempt status too?Any thoughts?

KeymasterGreat point re. what the insurance companies do Steve. They are the ones who’ll bear any financial liability. Or will they?
It will definitely be worth keeping an eye on any changes to our T’s & C’s over the coming year ! - April 3, 2018 at 9:35 pm #797
